THE WAREHOUSE SERIES

Overview

For Blackout Agency’s underground warehouse series, Layers of Time was tasked with transforming raw industrial spaces into immersive, low-light environments aligned with European rave standards.

Challenge

Traditional lighting systems rely on visibility. This project required the opposite — designing with darkness as a primary medium while maintaining spatial coherence and energy.

Approach

We developed a pixel-mapped lighting system where generative visuals directly controlled physical fixtures. Instead of programming sequences, we created a responsive visual engine.

Execution

Using Resolume as the central control system, generative video signals were translated into DMX data via Art-Net. This allowed lighting structures to behave as a unified, dynamic canvas reacting in real time to sound.

Impact

 The result was a fluid, evolving environment where light and darkness operated as equal forces — achieving a level of immersion typically seen in large-scale European warehouse productions.
